Abstract

This study aims to analyse the effect of green open space (RTH) quality on stress levels among residents of Kartasura and Colomadu subdistricts in Indonesia. Using a quantitative and qualitative approach, data was collected through questionnaires and indepth interviews. The results of the linear regression analysis indicate that the quality of RTH has a moderate relationship with stress levels, with an R-squared value of 32.75% and statistical significance (p = 0.003). Only the physical presence of RTH significantly influenced stress reduction (coefficient = 0.245; p = 0.045),while other variables such as cleanliness and facilities did not show significant effects. These findings indicate that RTH serves as an important infrastructure for community psychological well-being. Therefore, policy recommendations include ecological-based RTH revitalisation, provisionof environmentally friendly facilities, participatory management, and development of quiet zones. This study emphasises the importance of integrating mental health aspects into RTH planning and management to improve the quality of life for the community.
