Abstract

North Bengkulu is the largest district in Bengkulu Province with an area of 4,481.99 km2 (2023), covering 22% of the total area of the province (20,130.21 km2). Land cover changes in North Bengkulu are influenced by various factors, including population growth, agricultural practices, and government policies. The importance of sustainable land cover management in North Bengkulu lies not only in environmental aspects, but also in improving the quality of life of the community. Satellite images are images of the earth's surface that are digitally recorded by sensors (cameras) on remote sensing satellites orbiting the Earth. Remote sensing is the art or science of obtaining information about objects, areas, or phenomena without interacting with them. This report presents an in-depth analysis of land use change monitoring techniques, policy frameworks, and case studies in Indonesia, especially in North Bengkulu
