REPOSITORY POLICY

1. General Policy

Medical JKK supports the dissemination of scientific knowledge through institutional repositories, subject-based repositories, academic websites, and other appropriate scholarly platforms.

The journal permits authors to deposit and share their manuscripts in accordance with the journal's open-access policy, copyright policy, and Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license.

This policy aims to improve the accessibility, visibility, discoverability, and long-term availability of scholarly publications while maintaining appropriate attribution, licensing information, and the integrity of the published scholarly record.

2. Author Self-Archiving Rights

Authors publishing in Medical JKK are permitted to deposit and share their work through the following platforms:

  • Institutional repositories managed by universities or research institutions.

  • Subject-specific or disciplinary repositories.

  • Personal academic websites.

  • Institutional research portals and academic profiles.

  • Other legitimate scholarly repositories that support the dissemination of scientific publications.

Authors may share their published articles without an embargo period, subject to the terms of the applicable CC BY-SA 4.0 license.

3. Permitted Manuscript Versions

Medical JKK recognizes the following manuscript versions for repository deposit:

a. Preprint (Submitted Version)

Authors may deposit the preprint version of their manuscript in an appropriate preprint server or repository before or during the journal submission process.

Authors must disclose relevant prior dissemination when requested by the journal and ensure that the preprint does not violate the journal's submission requirements or applicable ethical standards.

Once the article is published in Medical JKK, authors are encouraged to update the preprint record with the complete publication details and a link to the official published version.

b. Accepted Manuscript (Author Accepted Manuscript)

Authors may deposit the accepted manuscript, which is the version incorporating revisions accepted after peer review but before the publisher's final formatting and production, in an institutional or subject repository.

The deposited manuscript must retain appropriate author attribution and must not be presented as the final published version if it differs from the official version of record.

Where available, authors should update the repository record with the final publication information and a link to the published article.

c. Published Version (Version of Record)

Authors may deposit and share the final published version of their articles, including the publisher's PDF, in institutional repositories, subject repositories, personal academic websites, and other appropriate scholarly platforms.

The published version must retain its original citation information, copyright statement, and applicable CC BY-SA 4.0 license information.

Authors should provide a link to the official Medical JKK article page or DOI, where available, to support accurate citation and identification of the authoritative publication.

4. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright in their published work in accordance with the journal's copyright policy.

Articles published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license may be shared, copied, redistributed, and adapted in accordance with the license terms.

Anyone redistributing or adapting an article must provide appropriate attribution, indicate whether changes have been made, include the applicable license information, and comply with the ShareAlike requirement for adaptations.

The license does not remove the obligation to respect applicable third-party rights, privacy requirements, or other legal restrictions relating to materials included in an article.

Official license information is available at:

https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/

5. Repository Deposit Requirements

When depositing an article in a repository, authors are encouraged to provide the following information:

  • Article title.

  • Names of all authors.

  • Publication year.

  • Journal title: Medical JKK.

  • Volume, issue, and page numbers or article number, where applicable.

  • DOI or other persistent identifier, where available.

  • Link to the official article page.

  • Copyright and licensing information.

  • Acknowledgment of the original publication in Medical JKK.

Authors must ensure that the deposited material accurately represents the relevant manuscript version and does not contain unauthorized modifications that could mislead readers about the published research.

6. Open Access and Embargo

Medical JKK supports immediate open access to its published articles.

The journal does not impose an additional embargo period on the repository deposit of the final published version of an article, provided that the deposit complies with the applicable CC BY-SA 4.0 license and the journal's publication policies.

Authors may make their published articles available through legitimate repositories and academic platforms to facilitate wider access to research findings.

7. Research Data and Supplementary Materials

Authors are encouraged to deposit supporting research data, supplementary files, instruments, code, or other materials in appropriate repositories when ethically and legally permissible.

Data sharing must comply with applicable research ethics requirements, participant consent, patient confidentiality, privacy regulations, intellectual property rights, and institutional policies.

For research involving human participants or clinical information, authors must ensure that identifying or confidential information is not disclosed without appropriate authorization.

Where research data cannot be made publicly available, authors should explain the relevant restrictions in accordance with the journal's applicable research data policy.

8. Integrity of Deposited Content

Authors are responsible for ensuring that deposited manuscripts and related materials are accurate, properly attributed, and consistent with the applicable publication and licensing requirements.

Repository records should not be used to misrepresent the publication status, peer-review status, or version of an article.

If a published article is corrected, retracted, or subject to an expression of concern, authors and repository administrators are encouraged to update the relevant repository records or link to the official notice issued by Medical JKK.

The journal may request clarification or corrective action if a repository deposit creates substantial confusion regarding the authenticity, status, or integrity of a published article.

9. Digital Preservation

Repository deposit is an additional means of preserving and disseminating scholarly work. It does not replace the journal's own digital preservation and archiving arrangements.

Medical JKK encourages the use of reliable institutional or subject repositories that provide appropriate access management, metadata, and preservation practices.

The journal's separate Archiving Policy describes its arrangements for electronic backup and digital preservation.

10. Policy Review

Medical JKK will periodically review this policy to maintain consistency with its open-access policy, copyright and licensing arrangements, publication ethics requirements, and developments in scholarly communication.

Any changes to this policy will be published on the journal's website to ensure transparency for authors, readers, repository administrators, and other stakeholders.
