Plagiarism Policy
Plagiarism Policy
Inspirasi: Journal of Education and Culture upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and strictly prohibits any form of plagiarism.
Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the act of using, copying, or closely imitating the ideas, text, data, or work of others without proper acknowledgment and presenting them as one’s own work. This includes:
- Direct copying without citation
- Improper paraphrasing
- Self-plagiarism (reuse of own published work without disclosure)
- Use of data, tables, or figures without proper permission
Plagiarism Screening
All submitted manuscripts will be checked using plagiarism detection software such as Turnitin or similar tools before entering the peer review process.
Similarity Index Policy
The journal applies the following similarity index standards:
- ≤ 20% → Acceptable (with proper citation and no plagiarism in core sections)
- 20–30% → The manuscript will be returned to the author for revision
- > 30% → The manuscript will be rejected
This threshold is commonly applied in academic journals, where a maximum similarity of around 20% is considered acceptable for submission
Handling of Plagiarism Cases
- Manuscripts exceeding the acceptable similarity limit will not proceed to peer review
- Authors will be required to revise and reduce similarity before resubmission
- Manuscripts with serious plagiarism will be rejected immediately
- If plagiarism is detected after publication, the article may be retracted
Author Responsibilities
Authors must ensure that:
- The manuscript is original and has not been published elsewhere
- All sources are properly cited
- Proper quotation and paraphrasing techniques are used
Sanctions
- Immediate rejection of plagiarized manuscripts
- Temporary or permanent ban for authors who commit serious violations
- Notification to affiliated institutions if necessary
