Peer Review Process
Peer Review Process
Medical: Journal of Health and Medicine maintains the highest standards of peer review to ensure the quality and integrity of published scholarly articles. Our review process follows these stages:
1. Initial Review and Plagiarism Screening
Upon submission, every manuscript undergoes a preliminary evaluation by the Editorial Team within approximately 2–3 weeks. This stage includes:
-
Scope & Format Check: Assessment of the manuscript's alignment with the journal’s focus, scope, and formatting guidelines.
-
Plagiarism Screening: All manuscripts are screened for authenticity using Turnitin. The maximum allowed similarity index is 20%. Manuscripts exceeding this threshold will be returned to the authors for revision or rejected immediately.
2. Double-Anonymous Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent for external review, which typically takes about 1 month.
-
Review Model: We employ a Double-Anonymous Peer Review (formerly known as Double-Blind). The identities of both the authors and the reviewers are kept confidential to ensure an objective and unbiased evaluation.
-
Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent subject-matter experts (peer reviewers).
3. Editorial Decision
Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief will make one of the following decisions:
-
Accepted: The manuscript is accepted for publication without further changes.
-
Accepted with Revisions: The author(s) must address the reviewers' comments and suggestions. Revised manuscripts must be submitted back through the OJS system within 1–2 weeks.
-
Rejected: The manuscript does not meet the scientific standards or requirements of the journal.
4. Publication
Once the final version is accepted and formatted, the article will be published in the upcoming issue according to the journal's publication schedule.
